Chapter Projects

2025 Projects

Thanks to the volunteers and FWP crew who pitched in to place Perch Spawning habitat at Tiber yesterday. Thanks to Toby from the Bureau of Rec for getting the VFW docks in to make it a lot easier job.

The Pines for Perch project this year placed around 400 old Christmas trees in various locations near the VFW to provide spawning habitat for perch.

A big thanks to Darrel Beach from Great Falls Walleyes Unlimited who has coordinated this project with FWP for decades.

A big thanks to Mike Crosscut, Bim Johnson, Neil Schwartz from Chester who came out to help load boats with trees and weights.

Katie Vivian, Fisheries Biologist from Choteau coordinated the FWP crews from Choteau, Valier, and Great Falls. If you see Katie or Dan Frazer from Choteau, tell them their efforts are greatly appreciated.

Also, water levels are very low at Tiber. The only usable boat ramp is the original VFW ramp at the dam. Other ramps are not usable with current lake elevation of 2978.4 feet. Inflows are 275.5 cfs and outflows are at 411.5 cfs so levels are not coming up yet.

2024 Chapter Projects!

Thanks to the volunteers and the crews from FWP from both Great Falls and Choteau.  These types of projects are what Walleyes Unlimited is all about…..doing whatever can be done to sustain and improve our warm water fisheries.   Support your local walleye chapter for all the good things they do
