2026 AIS Short Course Opportunity

When

2026-04-29 - 2026-04-30
12:00 am
On behalf of the Missoula County Department of Ecology and Extension we would like to share and inform of the 3rd annual Aquatic Invasive Species Short Course. This event will take place on April 29th and 30th at the Exploration Center in Missoula! In the past, this conference has hosted over 100 participants from several states and represented a variety of government agencies, regional stakeholders, private companies, universities, and tribal organizations.
This year, we have an agenda stacked with presentations on aquatic invasive species, how they spread, management methods, and local case studies. These talks are interspersed with workshops geared toward learning to better identify aquatic species as well as demonstrations of boat decontamination from folks at the check stations.
The Short Course will also provide an opportunity for attendees to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through the Montana Department of Agriculture in the following categories:
    0 – Dealer – 6 credits
    5 – Aquatic Pest Control – 6 credits
    10 – Demonstration & Research Pest Control – 6 credits
We would love to have you or other folks at Montana Walleyes Unlimited attend this event. If you are interested in registering, please see the attached flyer or visit the link to the Short Course website (listed below). If you all are interested in sponsoring this event, please see the attached ‘Sponsorship Options’ flyer. We hope to see you there!
If there is anyone else you think would like to attend this event, we would greatly appreciate you spreading the word! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or our AIS Coordinator, Clarissa Orton (corton@missoulacounty.us) if you have any further questions!
Best,
Jenna A.
